Are you an experienced Pastoral Manager, Pastoral Lead, Learning Mentor or Student Support professional looking for a rewarding role supporting young people through their sixth form education?
Smile Education is currently recruiting for a secondary school in Solihull looking for a dedicated and proactive Sixth Form Pastoral Manager to support the wellbeing, attendance, behaviour and personal development of students.
The Role
Take responsibility for the pastoral care and wellbeing of sixth form students.
Build strong, positive relationships with students and provide guidance and mentoring.
Monitor and support attendance, punctuality and engagement.
Work with students to identify barriers to learning and put appropriate support in place.
Support students with behaviour, motivation, confidence and personal development.
Liaise with parents, carers, teachers, SEN staff and external professionals where appropriate.
Support safeguarding and respond appropriately to any concerns.
Help students prepare for their next steps, including university, employment, apprenticeships and further education.
Maintain accurate records and contribute to meetings and pastoral reviews.We're Looking For
Previous experience in a pastoral, safeguarding, mentoring or student support role.
Experience working with secondary-aged students, ideally within a sixth form or post-16 setting.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A calm, approachable and supportive manner.
Strong organisation skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Confidence dealing with sensitive situations and challenging conversations.
A good understanding of safeguarding and student wellbeing.
Someone who is proactive, reliable and passionate about helping young people succeed.What We Offer
