How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    SENDCo (Senior School)

    Leading Independent School, Essex
    Permanent | Full Time | January 2027

    Lead SEND Provision in a Thriving Senior School

    An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced and passionate SENDCo to lead and develop Learning Support within a successful and highly regarded independent Senior School.

    Working closely with senior leaders, teaching staff, parents and external agencies, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring pupils with additional learning needs are fully supported to achieve their academic and personal potential.

    This position would suit an experienced SEND professional who is committed to inclusion, high standards and pupil-centred practice.

    The Role

    Key responsibilities include:

    * Leading and managing SEND provision across the Senior School.

    * Coordinating support for pupils with a range of additional learning needs.

    * Overseeing pupil assessments, learning plans and intervention programmes.

    * Managing Exam Access Arrangements in line with JCQ regulations.

    * Advising teaching staff on effective inclusive classroom strategies.

    * Working collaboratively with parents, pastoral teams and external professionals.

    * Monitoring pupil progress and evaluating the impact of SEND interventions.

    * Delivering training and guidance to staff to support inclusive practice.

    About You

    The successful candidate will:

    * Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

    * Have substantial experience supporting pupils with SEND in a secondary setting.

    * Hold, or be working towards, the NASENCO or NPQ SENCO qualification.

    * Demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills.

    * Have the ability to lead, motivate and develop colleagues.

    * Be committed to enabling every pupil to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.
