How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Information & Data Analyst

    Belfast | £17.75 per hour | Belfast City Council

    The Opportunity

    Prime Recruitment Services are currently recruiting for an Information & Data Analyst to support Belfast City Council's Waste and Fleet Logistics team.

    This is a data-focused operational role, responsible for maintaining accurate information, analysing performance data and producing reports that support effective waste collection services across domestic and commercial operations.

    The successful candidate will work with operational systems and databases, investigate and interpret complex information, and provide evidence to support management decisions, complaints, Freedom of Information (FOI) requests and service improvements.

    The Role

    You will be responsible for ensuring operational data is accurate, up to date and effectively used to support service delivery. The role combines data entry, data analysis, reporting, systems support and information management, with regular interaction across operational teams and stakeholders.

    You will also provide support with route planning and optimisation, GIS mapping, operational systems and data quality, as well as providing cover for the Route Balancing and Optimisation Officer when required.

    Key Responsibilities

    Maintain and update accurate operational data across relevant systems and databases.
    Analyse complex waste collection data to identify trends, gaps and opportunities for improved service delivery.
    Produce regular and ad hoc management reports, performance dashboards and analytical summaries.
    Retrieve, investigate and analyse historical operational information to support complaints, FOI requests and management information requirements.
    Monitor and audit data quality, identifying discrepancies and working with operational managers to resolve issues.
    Support the introduction and use of operational systems, including GIS mapping.
    Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to improve data flows between operational systems, platforms and CRM channels.
    Provide data-driven evidence to support resource allocation and service delivery planning.
    Provide basic system support, training and guidance to operational staff.
    Ensure sensitive customer and operational information is handled in accordance with data protection and information governance requirements.
    Provide operational cover for route balancing and mapping activities when required.

    What We're Looking For

    You will need to be able to demonstrate at least one year's relevant experience in each of the following areas:

    High-volume data input, system updates and management of operational databases or specialist operational software.
    Manipulating and analysing complex data to produce metrics and reports that support decision-making.
    Retrieving, investigating and summarising information within tight timescales to support complaints, FOIs and management information requests.The role also requires strong:

    Analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to interpret complex information and make appropriate recommendations.
    IT and systems skills, including the ability to work with specialist software and identify and resolve user or system issues.
    Communication skills, including producing clear reports and communicating complex information effectively.
    Interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.
    Performance management and organisational skills.
    Customer care and information management awareness.Please note: Belfast City Council may shortlist candidates who can demonstrate two years' relevant experience in each of the three key experience areas above.
