How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Earn £14 an hour as a Support Worker and help adults with complex needs build confidence, independence and greater control over their lives.

    Support Worker

    Location: Birmingham, West Midlands, B26 3PN
    Salary: £14.00 per hour, equivalent to £28,028 per annum
    Contract: Full time, permanent
    Hours: 38.5 hours per week
    Shifts: 8.00am to 8.00pm and 8.00pm to 8.00am
    Working pattern: Rolling two week rota, including alternate weekends

    Have at least six months’ previous experience in a care or support setting.
    Be able to reliably travel to Birmingham, B26 3PN, for the stated shift times.
    Communicate clearly and maintain accurate written support records.
    Already have the right to work in the UK for the full contracted hours without employer sponsorship.

    Transforming Support is looking for experienced Support Workers to support adults with learning disabilities and complex needs in their own homes in Birmingham.

    You will build trusted relationships and provide practical support, reassurance and encouragement, helping each person develop confidence, make their own choices and live as independently as possible.

    These are full time, permanent positions, open to both men and women who meet the essential requirements.

    Benefits include: A discretionary £1,000 annual bonus, 28 days’ annual leave including bank holidays and a fully funded enhanced DBS check.

    What you’ll be doing

    Supporting everyday living skills, household responsibilities and independence.
    Helping individuals manage their tenancy and finances where required.
    Supporting health needs, appointments and medication in line with agreed procedures.
    Encouraging community involvement, relationships and personal interests.
    Contributing to support plans, reviews and positive risk management.
    Maintaining accurate records and working with colleagues and professional teams to deliver safe, consistent support.
    Each person’s needs, preferences and goals will guide your work. You will respect their dignity, rights and choices while helping them do as much as possible for themselves.

    About you

    You will be compassionate, patient and dependable, with a calm approach when needs or circumstances change.

    You must understand the importance of safeguarding and confidentiality, follow agreed support plans and work positively as part of a team.

    Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities or complex needs would be particularly useful.

    What you’ll get
