How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

JG Technical are partnering with a specialist engineering business to recruit a Technical Sales & Design Engineer — a role ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of system design, customer engagement and technical project delivery.

If you come from LEV, HVAC, dust & fume extraction, cooling technologies, or a similar engineered‑systems background, this is a standout opportunity to step into a role where your design capability genuinely shapes the solutions delivered to customers.

    The Opportunity

You’ll be the technical heartbeat of the sales function, designing bespoke extraction and ventilation systems, visiting customers to understand their requirements, and overseeing projects from concept through to installation.

This is a role for someone who enjoys variety: design work, customer interaction, site visits, supplier coordination, and ensuring projects run smoothly end‑to‑end. You’ll also play a key part in maintaining quality standards and supporting internal teams with technical information.

    Key Responsibilities

Respond to incoming enquiries and convert them into engineered solutions

Visit new and existing customers to assess requirements and build strong relationships

Design HVAC, LEV, dust/fume extraction or ventilation systems to client specifications

Provide technical support to sales engineers and office staff

Plan, organise and supervise suppliers and installers, including site visits

Arrange delivery of parts, equipment and oversee installation activities

Manage all associated project documentation and database updates

Provide technical information to CAD Engineers and LEV Test Engineers for RAMS preparation

Support and uphold ISO9001:2015 quality processes, reporting performance and improvements

Promote customer focus and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle

    What You’ll Bring

    Full UK driving licence

Strong technical understanding of HVAC, LEV, dust & fume extraction or similar engineered systems

Experience designing ventilation or extraction systems

    P602 certification (advantageous)

Confident using Word, Excel and internal databases

Comfortable working with customers, suppliers and installers

Organised, proactive and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
    Salary description

    £40000.00 - £48000.00 per year
