How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Maintenance Engineer (Electrical / AGV Training Programme) - Temp to Perm

    Location: Wolverhampton
    Rate: £40 per hour (Umbrella PAYE)
    Salary Equivalent: £65,000 per annum + Premium Weekend Overtime
    Shift Pattern: 3-Shift Rotation, 39 Hours per Week
    Contract: Temp-to-Perm

    Overview

    A fantastic opportunity for an electrically biased Maintenance Engineer looking to develop into an AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle) Subject Matter Expert.

    Joining a modern manufacturing environment, you'll support a fleet of AGVs and advanced automated systems, receiving extensive training on vehicle diagnostics, controls, automation, PLCs and autonomous technologies. This role is ideal for engineers with strong electrical maintenance skills who want to move into a specialist automation and AGV-focused position.

    Key Responsibilities

    - Maintain and fault-find AGVs, automated material handling systems and production equipment
    - Diagnose and repair electrical, controls and automation faults
    - Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown support
    - Support AGV reliability, performance and continuous improvement initiatives
    - Conduct electrical inspections and ensure compliance with safety standards
    - Work closely with operations teams to maximise equipment availability and uptime
    - Develop into a site AGV Subject Matter Expert through structured training and mentoring

    What You'll Need

    - Time-served apprenticeship or Level 3 qualification in Electrical Engineering, Maintenance Engineering or equivalent
    - Strong electrical fault-finding experience within manufacturing, logistics, warehousing or automated environments
    - Experience with PLC-controlled equipment, drives, sensors, motors or automation systems
    - A desire to specialise in AGV technology and advanced automation
    - Ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team
