Witney, Oxfordshire | £16.49 per hour + weekend enhancements
37 hours per week | 7:00am–2:30pm | Alternate weekends
Love cooking, but ready to get your evenings back?
You can work with fresh, seasonal ingredients, put your own ideas on the menu and finish at 2:30pm. No split shifts or late-night service.
You’ll be cooking in a welcoming residential care home, getting to know the people you cook for. You’ll hear what they enjoyed, learn their favourites and make meals they look forward to.
You’ll have the freedom to develop your own menus. That means balancing residents’ tastes with their nutritional needs, making sure people with specialist diets have meals they can enjoy too.
You’ll run the kitchen and lead a small team, keeping food quality, hygiene and safety standards high while managing your stock and budget.
The home has strong links with the local community, so there may also be opportunities to cater for community meals and events.
What else comes with the role?
* 30 days’ holiday, including bank holidays
* Company pension
* Free uniform and DBS
* Training and development
* Employee Assistance Programme
* Refer a Friend rewards of up to £1,000
* Access to Blue Light Card and shopping, leisure and restaurant discounts
You’ll be joining a not-for-profit provider that reinvests its surplus into residents, colleagues and its homes.
Would this suit you?
* You’ve worked in a professional kitchen, preparing meals for large groups.
* You understand specialist diets and how to build them into a varied menu.
* You can lead a team calmly and keep a kitchen organised.
* You’re comfortable talking with residents about what they like to eat.
* You know how to control costs and reduce waste without compromising the food.
A Level 3 qualification in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership, or equivalent, would be welcome, but isn’t essential.
