How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Year 6 Primary Teacher – Part-Time | January Start

    Cheshire | Part-Time | 1 Day Per Week | January 2027 Start | £140–£180 per day (DOE)

    Pay: £140 – £180 per day (DOE)
    Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
    Weekly PAYE Pay – No Umbrella Companies

    About the Opportunity

    Astro Education is currently recruiting an experienced Primary Teacher to join a lovely village primary school from January 2027, teaching a Year 6 class one day per week.

    The school is flexible on which day you work, meaning you can choose the day that suits you best. Once agreed, you will be expected to commit to the same day each week, providing consistency for the pupils and school.

    This would be a great opportunity for an experienced teacher looking for a regular part-time commitment alongside other work or personal commitments.

    The successful teacher will need to be confident teaching across the Year 6 curriculum, with particularly strong subject knowledge in Maths, English, Science and SPaG.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Teach a Year 6 class one day per week from January

    * Choose the day that works best for you

    * Deliver engaging and effective lessons across the Year 6 curriculum

    * Strong focus on Maths, English, Science and SPaG

    * Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment

    * Support pupils with different abilities and learning needs

    * Build positive relationships with pupils and staff

    * Work collaboratively with the school team and follow safeguarding procedures

    Requirements

    * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

    * Previous experience teaching within a primary school setting

    * Strong KS2 experience, ideally with Year 6

    * Confident subject knowledge across Maths, English and Science

    * Strong understanding of SPaG

    * Strong classroom management skills

    * Excellent communication and organisational abilities

    * Reliable and able to commit to the same day each week

    * Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

    * Eligibility to work in the UK
