Supply Desk is recruiting Cover Supervisors to work in welcoming and supportive secondary schools across Hemel Hempstead and the surrounding Hertfordshire area.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes during the absence of teaching staff, ensuring students remain engaged with pre-planned work while maintaining a positive and productive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
As a Cover Supervisor, you will:
Supervise whole classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain focused and engaged.
Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and communicate instructions clearly.
Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies and expectations.
Encourage students to complete assigned tasks and maintain positive attitudes towards learning.
Provide guidance and support to students where appropriate.
Create a safe, inclusive and respectful classroom environment.
Monitor student behaviour and report any concerns to relevant school staff.
Provide feedback to teachers regarding lesson outcomes and student engagement.
Support students with additional learning needs where required.
Adapt confidently to different subjects, year groups and classroom environments.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable individuals who enjoy working with young people.
The successful candidate will have:
Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally within education.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Confidence in supervising groups of students.
Good classroom and behaviour management skills.
The ability to remain calm, organised and professional.
A flexible and adaptable approach to working in different school environments.
A genuine interest in education and supporting student development.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing.
Previous classroom experience is desirable but not essential.
