About the Role
Our client are currently seeking an experienced EHS Advisor to join the project team on a major data centre project in Didcot, Oxfordshire.
The EHS Advisor will work closely with the Project and Site Management teams, subcontractors and workforce to ensure high standards of Environmental, Health & Safety are maintained throughout the project.
This is a hands-on site-based position, ideal for an EHS professional with a strong construction background who is looking to develop their experience within the data centre sector.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide day-to-day EHS advice and support to the project and site teams.
* Carry out regular site inspections, audits and safety walks.
* Review and monitor RAMS, method statements and safe systems of work.
* Support the investigation of accidents, incidents and near misses.
* Monitor subcontractor compliance with project EHS requirements.
* Deliver and support site inductions, toolbox talks and safety briefings.
* Assist with the implementation and monitoring of the project EHS management system.
* Identify potential hazards and ensure appropriate corrective and preventative actions are implemented.
* Maintain accurate EHS records, reports and documentation.
* Support the project team in maintaining compliance with UK H&S legislation and company procedures.
* Promote a positive and proactive safety culture across the project.
* Work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, Supervisors and subcontractors to continuously improve EHS performance.
Requirements
* NEBOSH General, Construction or equivalent EHS qualification.
* 3+ years’ experience in a site-based H&S/EHS role.
* Previous experience working on large-scale construction projects.
* Data centre, pharmaceutical, industrial, M&E or other technically complex project experience would be advantageous.
* Strong knowledge of current UK H&S legislation.
* Experience with RAMS, audits, inspections, incident investigation and subcontractor management.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a wider project team.
* Proactive approach to health and safety with strong attention to detail.
* CSCS and relevant construction experience preferred

£60000.00 - £65000.00 per year
