A good Support Worker doesn’t just provide support.
They listen.
They notice.
They encourage.
They know when to step in - and when to step back.
And they celebrate the wins, however big or small.
We’re looking for an experienced Support Worker to join our Lowestoft team and support people with complex needs to live life in the way they choose.
This is where you come in
You’ll be supporting people who may need additional support with things such as autism, mental health, behaviours of distress, trauma and potential forensic histories.
Your role will be to help each person feel safe, valued and in control of their own life.
That could mean helping with personal care and daily routines, supporting someone to develop a new skill, heading out into the community, joining an activity or simply being there when someone needs reassurance.
You’ll follow individual Positive Behaviour Support plans, use reflective practice and work alongside the people we support to help them achieve their goals.
Most importantly, you’ll get to know them.
No two days will be the same
One shift could involve a trip into the community.
Another could be helping someone work towards becoming more independent.
Another might be quieter — supporting someone at home, enjoying an activity they love or helping them through a difficult moment.
There will be challenges, but there will also be plenty of moments that remind you why you chose this work in the first place.
What we’re looking for
You’ll already have experience working as a Support Worker and supporting people with enhanced or complex needs.
You’ll be:
Patient – you understand that everyone does things at their own pace
Calm – you can handle challenging situations without losing your composure
Consistent – you understand how important trust and routine can be
Hands-on – you're happy getting involved in everyday life
Resilient – you can manage the challenges that come with complex support
Compassionate – you genuinely care about the person behind the support needs
Committed to independence – you know that supporting someone doesn’t mean doing everything for themExperience with Positive Behaviour Support and reflective practice is important, as is experience supporting people with complex needs.
