How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Head of Alumni Engagement will oversee activities that strengthen relationships with alumni, ensuring they remain connected and engaged. Based in Oxfordshire, this role is integral to the higher education sector, driving meaningful connections that support the organisation's goals.

    Develop and implement strategies to engage alumni and foster long-term relationships.
    Oversee communication plans, including newsletters, events, and digital outreach.
    Coordinate alumni events that promote networking and community building.
    Collaborate with internal teams to align alumni engagement with organisational objectives.
    Manage a database of alumni contacts, ensuring accuracy and GDPR compliance.
    Analyse engagement metrics and produce reports to guide future initiatives.
    Act as the main point of contact for alumni enquiries and feedback.
    Support fundraising efforts by identifying and cultivating alumni donors.Profile

    A successful Head of Alumni Engagement should have:

    Proven experience in alumni relations, stakeholder engagement, or a related field.
    Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships.
    Ability to plan and deliver events effectively.
    Knowledge of database management and data protection regulations.
    Proficiency in analysing data to inform decision-making.
    Capability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
