How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    KS1 SEN Teaching Assistant

    Location: Birmingham, B29
    Weekly Pay: £500-£525
    Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm
    Start Date: ASAP
    Contract: Long-Term, Temp-to-PermLong Term Futures are seeking an experienced and compassionate KS1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the B29 area of Birmingham.

    This is a full-time role supporting pupils across Key Stage 1 with Autism (ASD), ADHD and complex additional needs. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide targeted 1:1 and small-group support, helping pupils access learning, develop independence and manage their emotional and behavioural needs.

    The successful candidate will have strong SEN experience and be confident adapting their approach to meet the individual needs of pupils within a busy primary classroom.

    Responsibilities

    Provide targeted 1:1 and small-group SEN support across KS1
    Support pupils with ASD, ADHD and complex additional needs
    Adapt classroom activities to meet individual learning needs
    Support pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour
    Use structured routines, visual aids and sensory strategies where appropriate
    Support communication, social interaction and engagement with learning
    Recognise potential triggers and use appropriate de-escalation strategies
    Encourage independence, confidence and positive relationships
    Work towards individual learning targets and EHCP outcomes
    Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support teamWhat the School is Looking For

    Previous experience supporting children with SEN within a primary or specialist setting
    Experience working with pupils with ASD, ADHD and complex needs
    Confidence providing 1:1 and small-group support
    Experience supporting pupils within KS1
    Good understanding of behavioural and emotional regulation strategies
    Knowledge of Makaton, PECS, visual timetables and Now & Next boards would be beneficial
    Ability to adapt learning activities to suit different needs and abilities
    A calm, patient and consistent approach
    Strong communication and teamwork skills
