How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Take ownership of a brand-new Design Reviewer function and help ensure the integrity of critical piping systems on one of the UK's most complex nuclear construction projects.

    The Opportunity

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced piping engineer to take ownership of a newly created IIA Design Reviewer position within a critical Pressure Compliance team supporting the Hinkley Point C project. As the first person to undertake this role, you will have the opportunity to help shape processes, establish best practice and influence how design surveillance activities are delivered moving forward.

We're particularly interested in individuals with strong piping design and calculation experience, ideally gained in highly regulated environments and supported by knowledge of RCC-M, ASME III or EN 13480. If you enjoy technical challenge, stakeholder engagement and making a tangible impact on major infrastructure projects, this role offers an exceptional opportunity to develop your expertise while contributing to the successful delivery of the UK's nuclear future.

    Key Responsibilities

Perform surveillance of design documentation against applicable technical and regulatory requirements.

Identify, raise and track technical observations through to successful resolution.

Support convergence meetings and drive closure of design and compliance issues.

Review piping designs and calculations to ensure pressure compliance requirements are met.

Develop surveillance reports and contribute to project KPI performance tracking.

Proactively identify technical risks and support mitigation strategies.

Interface with contract partners and multidisciplinary project teams.

Support pressure testing, completion, handover and commissioning activities.

Provide assurance of engineering quality, compliance and design integrity.

    Qualifications & Requirements

Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent vocational training and relevant industry experience.

Extensive experience in piping design within highly regulated sectors such as Nuclear, Defence, Power Generation, Oil & Gas or Process Industries.

Proven ability to undertake technical design reviews and provide engineering assurance on complex piping systems.

Experience assessing piping calculations, pressure systems and pressure compliance requirements.

Broad understanding of engineering construction methods, materials, fabrication techniques and industry regulations.

Knowledge of pressure testing, installation, completion and commissioning activities.

Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify technical issues early and drive effective solutions.

Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, capable of influencing multidisciplinary teams and external partners.

Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work autonomously while helping establish new processes and best practice.

    What's In It For You?

The nuclear energy sector offers outstanding career stability, long-term investment and the opportunity to contribute to nationally important infrastructure projects. As demand for clean and reliable energy continues to grow, professionals in the sector benefit from cutting-edge technology exposure, specialist career development and excellent long-term progression opportunities.

Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package

    Excellent career progression opportunities

    Exposure to world-class engineering programmes

    Work alongside industry-leading experts

High-impact role on a landmark UK infrastructure project

Strong safety, quality and engineering culture
