How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Customer Quality Engineer

    Blandford Forum / Poole | Full-time | Manufacturing

    Circa £40 - £45k

Why this role is worth looking at:

If you're a quality professional who enjoys solving problems rather than simply documenting them, this could be a good move.

You'll have genuine influence over customer quality, continuous improvement and the wider quality culture across the site. There's also scope to develop your technical and leadership skills through further training, including auditing and advanced quality tools.

You'll receive a competitive salary, pension, holiday allowance and a role where your ideas can actually make their way off the whiteboard and into the factory. There's also some flexibility around home working when required.

The opportunity as Customer Quality Engineer

Our client is looking for an experienced Customer Quality Engineer to become a key link between its customers and manufacturing teams.

You'll take ownership of customer complaints and corrective actions, using tools such as 8D, 5 Why and root cause analysis to get beyond the immediate problem and stop it coming back. You'll also support customer audits, visits and quality reviews, while working closely with production and suppliers to resolve issues.

Alongside the day-to-day customer quality work, you'll be involved in PPAP, APQP, PFMEA, Control Plans, process audits and continuous improvement, with a strong focus on reducing PPM, scrap, rework and the ever-unpopular Cost of Poor Quality.

What you'll bring as Customer Quality Engineer:

We're looking for someone with around 3+ years' experience in a manufacturing quality environment, who is comfortable dealing directly with customers and confident leading investigations through to resolution.

    You'll ideally have experience with:

8D, 5 Why and structured root cause analysis
    Internal/process auditing
    Engineering drawings and GD&T
PPAP, APQP, FMEA and Control Plans
    SPC/MSA and quality KPIs
ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 environmentsExperience in fabrication, welding, machining, forming or metal finishing would be useful, but isn't essential.

Most importantly, you'll be credible with customers, comfortable challenging issues when necessary, and someone who follows things through rather than declaring victory when the spreadsheet says "closed".

If you're looking for a quality role where you can have a visible impact, influence how things are done and continue developing your career, we'd be interested in hearing from you.
