St Edmund’s College is seeking an ambitious, commercially minded and experienced Summer School Director to lead, develop and grow our established Summer School programme.
This is a high-profile leadership opportunity for someone who can combine strategic vision, commercial awareness and outstanding operational management to deliver an exceptional experience for students while achieving ambitious financial and growth objectives.
The Opportunity
As Summer School Director, you will take overall responsibility for the successful operation and development of the Summer School, working closely with the Headmaster, Bursar, College departments and external partners.

Key responsibilities will include:
Leading the planning and day-to-day operational delivery of the Summer School.
Developing and implementing a medium-term business plan to support sustainable growth.
Taking responsibility for financial performance, including budgets, course fees and agreed financial targets.
Developing and delivering an effective marketing and promotional strategy to increase the Summer School’s profile and reach.
Building relationships with overseas agents and developing new international commercial partnerships.
Recruiting and managing academic, residential and pastoral teams.
Ensuring high standards of safeguarding, health and safety, quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
Monitoring performance and preparing reports and recommendations for the Headmaster, Bursar and Board of Governors.
Identifying new business opportunities, markets and potential areas for expansion.
Working collaboratively with internal departments and external suppliers to ensure an efficient and high-quality service.
About You
We are looking for an experienced leader with a strong track record in summer schools, education, hospitality, international programmes, commercial operations or a related environment.
You will have excellent leadership, organisational and communication skills, together with the commercial confidence to manage budgets, develop partnerships and identify opportunities for growth.
You will be proactive, entrepreneurial and able to balance commercial objectives with the delivery of a safe, high-quality experience for students.

The post holder will occasionally be required to work outside normal working hours, with reasonable notice.
Safeguarding
St Edmund’s College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Although this is not a teaching role, the successful candidate will work regularly in a school environment and have contact with children. The role therefore involves regulated activity, and an enhanced DBS check including children’s barred list information will be required prior to appointment.
