How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Location: Howden, near Goole
    Salary: £29,400 per annum
    Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
    Working Hours: Monday–Thursday, 8:00am–4:30pm; Friday, 6:00am–12:00pm
    (Occasional shift work may be required as and when needed)

    This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading manufacturing business with sites across the UK, Europe and Australasia.

    The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring the safe, efficient and smooth running of production operations, while supporting the team and maintaining high standards throughout the manufacturing process.

    The Role

    As a Production Line Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing production activities, ensuring machinery is prepared and operating effectively, and supporting a safe and productive working environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    Oversee day-to-day production line activities and ensure smooth and efficient production.
    Prepare machinery for operation and ensure equipment is running effectively.
    Lead and support production colleagues to achieve business and production requirements.
    Follow all health and safety procedures and ensure the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
    Identify and troubleshoot issues that may arise during machine operation.
    Make effective decisions and prioritise tasks according to business and production needs.
    Communicate effectively with colleagues and other areas of the business.
    Work autonomously while taking ownership of production activities and resolving issues where appropriate.
    About You

    The ideal candidate will have:

    Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment, particularly working with machinery.
    Previous supervisory or Production Line Leader experience.
    Experience preparing and operating machinery.
    Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    A strong understanding of workplace health and safety procedures.
    The ability to identify and resolve problems effectively.
    Good decision-making and prioritisation skills.
    The ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
    A flexible approach, with the willingness to work occasional shifts when required
