We are looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to work for a high-performance EV business, ensuring the quality, reliability and compliance of its critical supply base. This is a proactive, hands-on role bridging engineering, procurement and supplier development, working with a wide range of specialist and low-volume suppliers producing bespoke components across mechanical, electrical and composite domains.
The Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for:
Carrying out supplier assessments, audits and onboarding to confirm capability, quality and compliance.
Developing and maintaining supply chain quality standards and processes.
Working with engineering and procurement to validate supplier manufacturing methods and control plans.
Managing supplier non-conformances, leading root cause analysis and corrective actions using tools such as 8D and Ishikawa.
Developing and monitoring supplier KPIs and driving performance improvement initiatives.
Supporting initial sample inspection, incoming quality control and documentation verification.
Ensuring traceability and conformance for safety-critical and performance-critical parts.
The Supplier Quality Engineer will have:
Proven experience in supplier quality, manufacturing quality or supply chain engineering, ideally within automotive, motorsport or high-performance sectors.
Knowledge of quality systems and methodologies such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, PPAP, APQP, FMEA and FAIR.
The ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications.
Strong hands-on problem-solving and auditing skills.
Willingness to travel to suppliers across the UK, with occasional international visits.
Exposure to EV systems, prototype or low-volume environments, or formal auditor and quality certifications would be advantageous.
