Our client, a well-established and growing engineering manufacturer in Kent, is looking to recruit an experienced Workshop QC Operative to join their quality team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a quality-focused professional with experience in a CNC machining or precision engineering environment to play a key role in ensuring high standards are maintained throughout the manufacturing process.
The Role
You will be responsible for inspecting components and materials throughout production, ensuring all products meet required specifications, quality standards and customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
* Complete QC inspection documentation for production jobs
* Carry out routine inspections of CNC-machined components
* Inspect parts against engineering drawings and specifications
* Identify and report quality concerns and support corrective actions
* Conduct incoming goods inspections and verify material certification
* Maintain material traceability records
* Book materials and completed components into manufacturing systems
* Assist with leak testing and inspection of fabricated assemblies
* Maintain inspection equipment and calibration records
* Support housekeeping and health & safety standards within the workshop
* Develop product knowledge to undertake final assembly inspections
Candidate Requirements
* Previous quality inspection experience within precision engineering or CNC machining
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and tolerances
* Competent using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers and gauges
* Strong attention to detail and methodical approach
* Good understanding of CNC machining processes
* Experience using Sage or other MRP/manufacturing systems would be advantageous
* Knowledge of material certification and traceability would be beneficial
* Basic mechanical assembly knowledge desirable
* CMM experience would be an advantage
* Stable and reliable employment history
