How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Production Welder

    Location: Halesowen

    Salary: £14.46 per hour increasing to £14.96 after 3 months

    Hours: Monday to Thursday 7am – 4pm Friday 7am – 12pm

    Job Type: Temporary to Permanent

    Pertemps are currently recruiting for an experienced Production Welder to join a busy manufacturing and engineering company based in Halesowen.

    This is a great opportunity for an experienced MIG Welder, Production Welder or Fabricator Welder looking for a long-term position with the opportunity to increase their hourly rate following a skills assessment.

    The Role

    MIG welding steel components within a busy production environment

    Carrying out production welding and fabrication

    Welding components to drawings, specifications and quality standards

    Preparing, positioning and assembling components prior to welding

    Using hand tools and workshop equipment

    Checking finished welds and components for quality and accuracy

    Maintaining a clean and safe working environment

    Working to production targets and deadlines

    Following all health and safety procedures

    The Ideal Candidate

    Previous experience as a MIG Welder, Production Welder, Welder Fabricator or MIG Welding Operative

    Confident MIG welding steel

    Previous experience within a manufacturing, engineering, fabrication or production environment

    Able to produce consistent, quality welds

    Able to work from basic engineering drawings

    Good attention to detail

    Reliable and hardworking

    Comfortable working to production targets

    Relevant welding qualifications are advantageous but not essential

    Pay & Progression

    £14.46 per hour starting rate

    Skills assessment after 3 months

    Opportunity to increase to £14.96 per hour depending on skill level

    Temporary to permanent opportunity

    Working Hours

    Monday to Thursday: 7am – 4pm

    Friday: 7am – 12pm
