How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

The school is a primary school based in North West London with a creative approach to teaching and learning.

They are looking for a Teaching Assistant who can become an active member of the classroom team, working closely with the Year 2 teacher and wider staff to help pupils access learning and make progress.

The successful candidate will support the smooth day-to-day running of the classroom and help create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment for all pupils.

    The Role

Working within Year 2, you will support the class teacher with pupils' learning and the day-to-day organisation of the classroom.

    Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting pupils during whole-class teaching and independent activities
Working with small groups and individual pupils
Reinforcing learning introduced by the class teacher
Supporting pupils with reading, writing and maths
Helping pupils remain focused and engaged with their learning
Providing additional explanation and encouragement where required
Supporting positive behaviour and established classroom routines
    Preparing and organising classroom resources
Helping to maintain an organised and engaging learning environment
Providing appropriate feedback to the class teacher regarding pupils' progress and participation
Supporting pupils with differing learning needs within the classroom
Following the school's safeguarding, behaviour and health and safety procedures
Working collaboratively with the class teacher and wider school team

    The Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for someone who is proactive, reliable and committed to supporting children's learning.

    Ideally, you will:

Have previous experience working with primary-aged children
Have experience as a Teaching Assistant or within a relevant education or childcare setting
Be confident supporting pupils with KS1 learning
Have good literacy and numeracy skills
Be able to build appropriate and positive professional relationships with pupils
Be comfortable supporting individuals, small groups and the wider class
Be organised and able to use your initiative appropriately
Have a calm and consistent approach to supporting behaviour
Communicate effectively with teaching staff and other colleagues
Understand the importance of safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
Be able to work collaboratively as part of a school teamPrevious experience supporting pupils within KS1 or Year 2 would be advantageous but is not essential where candidates can demonstrate relevant transferable experience.
