How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

We're hiring an HR Manager to look after the people side of Descrial's King's Cross team. The UK team will grow from a handful of people to nearly thirty in four months, and every hire needs a clean offer, a compliant contract and a first week that works.

You'll be the first HR hire in London. You'll set up UK people operations from the ground up and run them day to day, working closely with TresVista's HR team in India.

    About Descrial

Descrial is a startup inside a twenty-year-old company

TresVista has run the analytical work behind private capital since 2006. 2,000 people, 400+ clients including some of the biggest names in the industry, no outside capital and no outside board. That was the first chapter. And we enjoyed getting here!

The next chapter is harder and more interesting

We are moving from services to software, from one firm's workflows to an industry's, and from executing investment decisions to shaping how they get made. Thirty of us in King's Cross, small and senior, with day one founder intensity. At its fullest expression, Descrial changes how every serious investment firm decides.

    The role

You report to Faraaz Lodhi, EVP, Shared Services, and act as the HR point of contact for everyone in King's Cross. You work with TresVista's HR, payroll and legal teams, and with hiring managers and recruitment partners, to keep UK people processes compliant, simple and fair.

    Your remit

    The hiring and onboarding

You coordinate the London hiring process with hiring managers and recruitment partners, covering interview scheduling, offers, references and right-to-work checks. You prepare UK contracts and onboarding plans, and make sure every new joiner has what they need from day one.

    The people operations

You run UK payroll inputs, pension auto-enrolment, benefits, absence and leave. You keep employee records, HR systems and policies accurate and GDPR-compliant. You adapt TresVista's group policies to UK employment law, bringing in legal advisers where needed.

    The team as it grows

You are the first point of contact for employee questions and handle employee relations cases fairly and promptly. You support managers through probation, performance reviews and development conversations. You help build a culture that holds together across London and Bengaluru as the team grows.

    Your experience

    * You have supported a team through rapid hiring, or set up HR processes where few existed.

    * You have 4+ years in an HR Manager or HR advisor role, including time as the main HR contact for a UK team.

    * You know UK employment law and practice, including contracts, right to work, payroll inputs, pensions and employee relations.

    * You are discreet, organised and service-minded, and can stay calm when priorities change in a growing business.

    * There is no specific degree requirement for this role.

    Useful to have, none required

    * Supporting teams across two locations and time zones

    * HR in a startup, scale-up or technology business

    * HR systems such as HiBob, Personio or Workday

    * A CIPD qualification at Level 5 or above

    The reality

    This will be difficult.

It demands pace and accuracy. We are building autonomous systems inside high-stakes live businesses, where decisions carry real consequences and impact and waiting for everyone to agree is not always an option.

The systems will sometimes get things wrong. In this phase the London team needs to create the evaluations, visibilities and safeguards that catch mistakes early, reducing them over time and stopping the same failures happening again.

If you want to build the foundations of an enterprise grade technology platform to service a multi-billion $ serviceable market opportunity, and share in that growth, this is your chance to join us.

    In our conversations

Come ready to discuss three pieces of work:

    * A hiring or onboarding process you ran: the volume, the timeline and what you changed.

    * An employee relations case you handled: the judgement calls and the outcome.

    * An HR policy or process you set up or improved for the people using it.

    Compensation

The all-inclusive package is typically £55,000-£65,000 a year, depending on experience.

    Practical details

    * King's Cross, London. In office (3 to 5 days a week), with colleagues in London and Bengaluru.

    * Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

    * We aim to finish the process within three weeks. Tell us if you need an adjustment to the interviews.

    * Descrial is an equal opportunity employer.

*Your application will be passed to our screening partner Chooseto.AI
