How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Electrical Bias Engineer

    Wrexham

    £47,500 Basic Salary

    4 on 4 off - 12-hour Days & Nights

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Bias Engineer to join a busy, highly automated manufacturing operation in Wrexham.

This is a hands-on engineering role working as part of an established engineering team, maintaining and improving automated production machinery and helping to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime.

The role will suit an experienced Maintenance Engineer with a strong electrical background and experience working within manufacturing, production, FMCG, packaging or another high-volume industrial environment.

    The Role

You will be responsible for the planned and reactive maintenance of automated production equipment, with a strong focus on electrical fault finding and breakdown response.

    Key responsibilities include:

Diagnosing and rectifying electrical faults on automated production machinery

Responding to electrical and mechanical breakdowns

Carrying out planned preventative and reactive maintenance

Fault finding across control systems, motors, sensors, drives and associated equipment

Working with PLC-controlled and automated machinery

Working with control panels, contactors, relays, inverters and variable speed drives

Carrying out electrical testing, repairs and component replacement

Supporting machinery modifications, improvements and continuous improvement activity

Working alongside Production to minimise downtime

Completing maintenance records and engineering documentation

Carrying out mechanical maintenance and adjustments where required

Working safely and in accordance with site procedures

    The Engineering Environment

Experience with the following would be highly advantageous:

    PLC-controlled machinery

    Electrical control panels

    Motors and motor control

    Inverters / VSDs

    Sensors and proximity switches

    Contactors and relays

    Safety circuits and interlocks

    Automated production machinery

    Conveyors and material handling equipment

    Packaging machinery

    Pneumatic and hydraulic systems

    Mechanical power transmission

    Robotics or automated handling equipment

You don't need to be a PLC programmer, but you must be confident using electrical fault-finding techniques to diagnose faults and get production equipment back up and running.

    The Person

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer with a clear electrical bias and genuine production maintenance experience.

    Ideally, you will have:

Previous Maintenance Engineering experience within manufacturing or production

    A strong electrical engineering background

    Proven electrical fault-finding experience

    Experience maintaining automated production machinery

Experience carrying out planned and reactive maintenance

Good knowledge of industrial electrical systems

    Good mechanical maintenance knowledge

The ability to diagnose faults logically and work effectively under pressure

A recognised engineering qualification, apprenticeship or equivalent experience

Experience within FMCG, food, packaging, plastics, logistics, converting or another highly automated manufacturing environment would be particularly relevant.

This is a great opportunity for an electrically biased Engineer looking for a permanent, hands-on role where their electrical fault-finding and automation skills will be genuinely utilised
