How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Senior Estimator – MEP / Power Solutions
    Central London | £80,000–£90,000 + Travel Allowance + Bonus

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Estimator to join a business at the forefront of generator and power supply solutions within the data centre sector.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing and highly technical business working on some of the most demanding power infrastructure projects in the market.

Data centre experience is not essential.
We're more interested in finding someone with a strong MEP estimating background, ideally gained on large and technically complex projects.

You could come from a main contractor, specialist subcontractor or equipment / power solutions supplier — what matters is your ability to understand complex MEP requirements, build accurate tenders and work effectively within a fast-paced team.

    The Opportunity

You'll be responsible for preparing tenders for projects with values of around £150m, working closely with commercial, engineering and operational teams to develop competitive and technically robust bids.

This role will suit someone who enjoys the challenge of winning work and wants to play a genuine role in the continued growth of the business.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Lead the preparation and submission of tenders for major projects.
    * Review tender documentation, drawings, specifications and scope requirements.
    * Develop accurate and commercially competitive estimates.
    * Build detailed cost plans and pricing models.
    * Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors and internal technical teams to obtain accurate pricing.
    * Identify commercial risks, opportunities and potential value engineering solutions.
    * Work closely with engineering and commercial teams throughout the tender process.
    * Challenge assumptions and ensure estimates are robust and achievable.
    * Support tender presentations and client discussions where required.
    * Contribute to improving estimating processes, systems and best practice.
    * Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and project stakeholders.

    About You

We're looking for an experienced estimator with a strong MEP background and the confidence to take ownership of significant tenders.

    You should have:

    * Proven experience working as an Estimator / Senior Estimator within MEP, construction, engineering or power.
    * Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
    * Experience pricing large-scale and technically complex projects.
    * The ability to interpret drawings, specifications and technical information.
    * Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
    * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Data centre experience is desirable but absolutely not essential.

    We're open to candidates from:

    ??? Main Contractors
    ? MEP Contractors
    ?? Specialist Subcontractors
    ?? Power / Generator Suppliers
    ?? Engineering / Industrial Businesses

    Personality Matters

This is as much about personality and cultural fit as technical experience.
We're looking for someone who is:

    * A genuine team player
    * Dynamic, energetic and commercially driven
    * Comfortable working at pace
    * Proactive and willing to challenge
    * Confident dealing with people at all levels
    * Someone who enjoys being part of a close-knit, collaborative team

    Salary & Package

    ?? £80,000–£90,000 basic
? Up to £95,000 for an exceptional candidate
    ?? Travel allowance
    ?? Bonus
    ?? Central London
?? 3 days per week in the office

    Why Apply?

You'll be joining a business operating at the cutting edge of critical power and generator solutions, with exposure to major projects and tenders around £150m in value.

If you're an experienced MEP Estimator looking for a role where you can have real influence, work on major projects and be part of a high-performing team, this could be an excellent next move.
