How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    As a Projects Officer in Birmingham, you'll play a key role in keeping projects on track and ensuring they run smoothly within the not-for-profit sector. Your organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities will help deliver meaningful outcomes for the organisation.

    Description

    Coordinate and support the delivery of a portfolio of strategic projects and initiatives, taking ownership of agreed workstreams and ensuring objectives, milestones, and deadlines are achieved.
    Develop, maintain, and monitor project plans, action trackers, risk registers, project schedules, and associated project documentation.
    Track project progress, identify risks, issues, and dependencies, and escalate concerns appropriately to ensure timely resolution.
    Provide project coordination support for academy transfer activities and other organisational change programmes.
    Coordinate and support strategic initiatives and other strategic priorities.
    Manage stakeholder engagement activities, building and maintaining effective relationships with colleagues, schools, external partners, and senior leaders.
    Collect, analyse, and present data and information to support effective decision-making and project evaluation.
    Produce project reports, management information, progress updates, training completion statistics, and performance reports for senior leadership and governance committees.
    Support the development, maintenance, and reporting of the Strategic Management Assurance Dashboard.
    Coordinate meetings, workshops, consultation sessions, and engagement events, ensuring all logistical arrangements are in place.
    Organise agendas, prepare meeting papers, take accurate minutes, and monitor the completion of agreed actions.
    Act as a key point of contact for project stakeholders, providing regular updates and supporting effective communication across the organisation.
    Support departmental activities, particularly those relating to risk management, compliance, governance, audit requirements, and data protection.
    Maintain accurate project records and documentation, ensuring information is current, accessible, and compliant with organisational standards.
    Monitor project performance against agreed objectives, timescales, and key deliverables, highlighting any concerns or opportunities for improvement.
    Provide general administrative and coordination support to ensure the successful delivery of strategic projects and organisational priorities.Profile

    Essential

    Experience

    Experience coordinating projects or project workstreams.
    Experience organising meetings, workshops, and stakeholder events.
    Experience maintaining project documentation, risk registers, and action logs.
    Experience producing reports, management information, and meeting minutes.
    Strong administrative and organisational experience.Knowledge

    Understanding of project management principles and practices.
    Knowledge of administrative and organisational processes.
    Understanding of data management and reporting requirements.Skills

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    Strong organisational and planning abilities.
    Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
    High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

    Job Offer

    Salary advertised at £35,000 dependent on the level of experience.
    Fixed-term contract until September 2027 with possible extension.
