How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    About the Job

    As a Project Officer, you will provide a high quality, customer and quality focused service through assisting Project Supervisors across Building services department to ensure annual planned projects of capital and cyclical are completed on behalf of the London Borough of Hounslow and Lampton Homes

    You will manage small scale construction projects from inception through to completion along with associated budgets on projects such small refurbishment projects, you will assist in planning, designing and scheduling kitchen and bathroom refurbishments, ensure accuracy of manufactures drawings and materials require.  

    You will have the confidence to build programmes of work for capital projects, having the ability to assist in the contractor tendering process and assisting with budget forecasting and monthly reporting.

    Key Responsibilities include:

    Effectively work with other members of the Projects Team and external supply chain partners, to ensure scopes of work and estimates are available to be submitted in support of the Lampton Services budget approval process.
    Ensure all projects are undertaken in accordance with Lampton Services, cost, time, quality expectations and seek to ensure performance which consistently meets Lampton Services’ requirements.
    Assist with planning, coordinating and managing all works with due regard to Lampton Services’ contractual obligations and administer such work in a spirit of mutual co-operation and trust.
    Ensure major projects and work programmes are well planned, and performance targets are known before the start of each project to enable measurement of contractor performance.
    Work with external supply chain partners to ensure scopes of work and estimates are available to be submitted in support of the Lampton Services budget approval process.
    Attend and assist with contractor progress meetings and record where necessary.

    To ensure that effective customer engagement is conducted for all workstreams and to work alongside the Project Supervisors to ensure clear and accurate information is given first time to the customer. 
    High level of stakeholder engagement and regular liaison with service provider and user groups, keeping record of issues identified and resolved; complete regular reviews of procedural documentation at set intervals and ad hoc.
    Assist in the review and amendment of Lampton Services planned work specifications to seek to continually improve efficiency and value and to enable the re-procurement of planned and cyclical maintenance services as may be reasonably required. 
    Ensure accurate and timely completion of all paperwork/electronic updates including timesheets within agreed timescales.
    Engage with residents on design, quality, while managing customer expectations. Using feedback to ensure continual improvement and high levels of customer satisfaction.
    To display a high level of customer care when dealing with enquiries from tenants and leaseholders and contribute positively towards a high-quality customer focused service. 
    To always ensure the safety of oneself and others by working within Health and Safety policy and procedures associated with repair and planned works.
    Ensure all works are undertaken to accord with Lampton Services statutory obligations including, but not limited to, the CDM Regulations 2015.
    Cultivate good inter-departmental working relationships to ensure smooth customer experience and take ownership of situations as they arise. Seeking and identifying improvements and efficiencies within the role, mitigating any delays or frustrations that Lampton Services’ customers and stakeholders may face

    Able to drive and hold a full driving licence.
    Ensure you remain up to date with all relevant compliance and mandatory training that will enable you to fulfil the requirements of your role.

    Education & Qualifications desirable:

    Numerate with good communication skills and ability to provide high quality reports on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis. (E)
    A working knowledge of MS office and an aptitude for other specialist software packages as required by the association is essential. (E)
    To demonstrate excellent customer care skills and show an understanding of and commitment to equality and diversity, in all aspects of the role. (E)
    Ability to work with guidance from others as well as through their own initiative. (E)
    Committed to work in a positive manner with both internal and external stakeholders. (E)

    Provide a review of specifications and implement changes to works streams where service is failing (D)

    Educated to ONC/BTec Level (in construction). (E)

    Previous Experience and Skills Required:

    Ideally with construction knowledge and sound knowledge of residential maintenance and refurbishment. (E)
    Knowledge and understanding of health and safety issues affecting residential properties preferred (e.g. asbestos) and understanding of construction health and safety legislation (including CDM 2015) is essential. (E)
    Experience of working alongside contractors for the successful delivery of planned works (D)
    Provide effective communication to ensure all affected parties are inform of the scope of works required (D)
