How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

We are seeking an experienced Quality and Training Manager to support the ongoing development of quality, training, technical processes and production within a busy manufacturing/engineering environment for our reputable client.
The role will have responsibility for ensuring employees are appropriately trained, quality standards are maintained, manufacturing processes are continually improved and production requirements are effectively supported. The successful candidate will work closely with the Production Manager, Business Manager, Quality Technician and SHEQ Manager.
    Training & Development
You will ensure that workshop and despatch personnel are trained to the required standard to meet production requirements, identifying and reporting any training shortfalls where necessary.
The role will involve delivering training when manufacturing or despatch processes are changed, ensuring employees understand new procedures and working practices.
You will maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures, ensuring they accurately reflect current processes and improvements and that employees understand and follow them.
You will also provide training on corrective actions arising from customer or internal non-conformance reports and ensure all training is properly recorded and signed off by the relevant employees.
Any changes affecting SHEQ standards or documentation will be communicated to the SHEQ Manager.
    Technical Development
Working alongside the Production Manager and workshop personnel, you will continually review tooling and manufacturing processes with the aim of improving quality, efficiency and productivity.
You will assist in assessing and justifying the purchase of new tooling and equipment, working with the Production Manager and Business Manager where required.
In the absence of the Production Manager, you will provide support with production setups and associated drawings.
    Quality
You will work closely with the Production Manager to ensure job cards are accurate and provide an effective additional quality check throughout the production process.
Responsibility will include ensuring the Quality Department has the appropriate measuring equipment required to carry out its duties effectively. You will oversee calibration requirements, ensuring all equipment requiring calibration is maintained, calibrated and within the required date.
You will raise customer Non-Conformance Reports where required, including appropriate corrective actions, and ensure these are accurately recorded within the NCR database.
The role will also involve training and supporting the Quality Technician across all aspects of their role, including assisting with supplier and internal NCRs, corrective actions and the preparation of reports relating to manufactured specifications.
You will carry out internal audits in accordance with the company's Quality Manual, working alongside the SHEQ Manager, and will attend regular Quality meetings.
    Production Support
Where production requirements or staffing levels require additional support, you will assist with production activities as necessary.
You will ensure raw materials required for non-stock items are processed promptly upon arrival, enabling their smooth introduction into the production schedule.
The role will involve monitoring workshop priorities and responding flexibly to urgent requirements, including customer emergencies and non-conformance work. You will work closely with workshop foremen to communicate changes in priorities and ensure production schedules remain achievable, escalating any issues to the Production Manager promptly.
You will ensure the required gauges and inspection equipment are available to support the production schedule and will keep the Quality Technician informed when priority work is ready for inspection, helping to maintain customer delivery expectations.
Working alongside the Production Manager, you will also contribute to maintaining a clean, organised and safe workshop environment.
    Health & Safety
Health and Safety is a key responsibility within the role. You will be expected to maintain a high level of awareness of your own safety and that of colleagues at all times, ensuring that safe working practices are followed throughout the workshop and production environment.
You will also be expected to undertake other reasonable duties and responsibilities as required by the Business Manager to support the effective operation of the business.
This is permanent role based on days Monday to Thursday 8-5 pm, with an early Friday finish (40 hours).
Salary Circa £42k pa plus production bonus and other company benefits.
If you feel you have the experience and qualifications to advance in this role we urge you to apply without delay. All suitable applicants will be responded to within 48 business hours
