How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Project Manager - Power & Infrastructure (Substations)
    We are working with a leading power infrastructure contractor delivering major HV infrastructure and data centre projects across the South East. With a strong pipeline of secured work and significant growth plans, they are looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager who can deliver substations, grid connections and HV works that support large projects such as data centres.

    The Role

    You will take full responsibility for the successful delivery of power and infrastructure projects, driving programme performance, commercial outcomes and client relationships from inception through to completion.

    Working closely with internal delivery teams, subcontractors, clients and key stakeholders, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.

    Key Responsibilities

    Lead the delivery of multiple power and infrastructure projects.
    Drive project programmes and ensure key milestones are achieved.
    Manage client relationships and act as the main point of contact.
    Oversee commercial performance and contractual obligations.
    Lead and develop site teams and project staff.
    Manage project risks, resources and stakeholder expectations.
    Ensure compliance with NEC and FIDIC contract requirements.
    Work closely with design, engineering and operations teams to deliver successful project outcomes.

    Requirements

    Proven experience as a Project Manager within utilities, power, infrastructure or construction.
    Electrical, Engineering or Civils background.
    Strong understanding of NEC contracts and contract administration.
    Knowledge of FIDIC contracts would be advantageous.
    Excellent programme management and commercial awareness.
    Strong leadership and people management skills.
    Ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships.
    Experience delivering projects within live operational environments.
