How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Business Development Manager

    Birmingham / Hybrid | Full-Time

£30,000-£35,000 per annum plus uncapped commission

Are you a driven B2B sales professional who loves winning new business and wants an opportunity where your earning potential really is uncapped? Are you confident picking up the phone, building relationships and turning conversations into commercial opportunities?

Due to continued growth, we’re looking for a Business Development Manager to join a fast-paced, growth-focused IT Value Added Distributor.

This is a true new business role where you’ll be responsible for identifying, developing and converting opportunities into revenue. However, you won’t be starting from scratch. You’ll have access to existing data and accounts with untapped potential, giving you plenty of opportunity to re-engage customers, build new relationships and uncover where the business can add value.

Alongside this, you’ll have the freedom to identify and develop completely new opportunities within the IT channel (Mostly IT Managed Service Providers and IT Resellers)

With uncapped commission and significant earning potential, high performers have the opportunity to earn six figures if you have the drive, determination and commercial ability to succeed.

Whether you already have experience within the IT channel or come from another B2B sales environment, if you’re hungry for new business, commercially minded and confident developing relationships from the ground up, we’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Be Doing: Business Development Manager

As a Business Development Manager, your focus will be on generating new business and turning untapped opportunities into revenue.

You’ll use existing data and dormant or underdeveloped accounts as a starting point, while also proactively identifying completely new customers and opportunities within the market.

    Key responsibilities include:

Proactively engaging dormant and underutilised accounts to uncover new business opportunities
Using existing customer and prospect data to identify where there is potential to generate revenue
Prospecting and developing completely new business opportunities within the IT channel
Building relationships with new customers and developing them into long-term commercial partnerships
Understanding customer requirements and identifying where products and solutions can add value
Supporting customers with product recommendations and solution options
Maintaining a strong pipeline of new business opportunities
Delivering accurate sales forecasting and keeping CRM activity up to date
Working closely with internal teams and vendor partners to identify opportunities and deliver the right solutions
Keeping customers informed about relevant promotions, offers and market opportunities
What We’re Looking For: Business Development Manager

We’re looking for someone who is commercially driven, proactive and genuinely motivated by winning new business.

You might currently work in business development, internal sales, telesales or a sales-focused account management role, either within IT, the technology sector or another B2B environment.

    Key qualities include:

A proven ability to generate new business and/or exceed sales targets
Confidence proactively approaching prospective customers and opening new conversations
    Strong relationship-building and communication skills
A proactive, commercially focused and solution-led approach
The ability to identify opportunities and turn conversations into revenue
Resilience, determination and the motivation to succeed in a target-driven environment
Excellent organisation and the ability to manage multiple opportunities
Confidence using CRM systems and sales tools
Experience within IT, technology, distribution or the reseller channel would be beneficial, but isn’t essential if you have strong B2B sales experience, a new-business mindset and the willingness to learn.
