How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Teaching Assistant - Make a Real Difference

Are you passionate about helping young people build confidence, overcome challenges and recognise their own potential?

We are looking for enthusiastic and compassionate Teaching Assistants to join a brand-new specialist SEND school in Chaldon, Surrey, supporting young people aged 11-16 who require support with social communication, emotional regulation and sensory processing, typically associated with Autism.

With small class sizes, high staff-to-student ratios and a multi-disciplinary approach, the school provides a supportive environment where every young person has the opportunity to thrive.

This is an exciting opportunity for a creative, proactive individual who can think outside the box, bring learning to life and help young people develop both academically and personally.

    The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will support teachers in delivering a broad and balanced curriculum. More importantly, you will play a key role in helping young people develop confidence, resilience and independence.

    You will:

Help young people discover their strengths, build confidence and recognise just how amazing they are.
Break down barriers and support pupils to achieve more than they thought possible.
Inspire resilience and self-belief, encouraging curiosity and a positive approach to learning.
Help every pupil feel valued, motivated and supported to succeed.
Celebrate the small steps and achievements pupils make towards their academic and personal goals.
Support young people to access learning beyond the classroom and make the most of opportunities within the wider community.
Adapt activities and approaches to meet individual needs.
Promote positive behaviour, independence and personal development.
Work flexibly as part of a wider team, lending a hand wherever needed. No two days will necessarily be the same, so flexibility, creativity and a can-do attitude are essential.

    About You

You don't need to be an experienced Teaching Assistant to be successful in this role. If you have the right values, attitude and approach, you will be provided with the support and training needed to develop your skills.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

A genuine desire to motivate and inspire young people.
The ability to build positive relationships and encourage self-belief.
A proactive, creative and solutions-focused approach.
The ability to think outside the box and adapt to individual needs.
A commitment to promoting independence, positive behaviour and personal development.
GCSE Maths and English, or Functional Skills Level 2 equivalent.
A willingness to embrace training and professional development opportunities.

    Training & Development

Previous experience isn't essential. You will have access to a range of free training and development opportunities, including the opportunity to work towards a Level 2 Award in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools if you have not already achieved this.

This makes the role an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin or develop a rewarding career in specialist education.

    Why Apply?

This is more than a Teaching Assistant role. It's an opportunity to become a trusted adult in a young person's life, helping them develop the confidence, skills and resilience they need for their future.

If you're creative, compassionate, proactive and passionate about helping young people succeed, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply now to be part of an exciting new specialist school and make a genuine difference every day.
