How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

An exciting opportunity for a Mid-Level Software Developer to join a growing FinTech business developing market-leading financial planning and modelling technology used by major financial institutions across the UK.
You'll join a highly skilled engineering team working on modern, complex applications, with exposure to cloud technology, CI/CD, financial modelling, and AI-assisted software development.
This is a great opportunity for a developer who enjoys solving technical problems, taking ownership, and working in an environment where you're encouraged to build, improve and experiment.

    Skills required:

Strong commercial Node.js, TypeScript and JavaScript experience
Full-stack experience with React and Node.js
Experience with MongoDB, Redis or similar technologies
Good knowledge of Git, CI/CD, and automated testing
Understanding of modern software engineering and Agile development
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach
Experience using AI-assisted development tools would be highly beneficial

    What You'll Be Doing:

Build and maintain applications using TypeScript, JavaScript, and Node.js
Work across the stack with React, Node.js, MongoDB and Redis
Develop and improve financial modelling applications
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and containerised environments
Use modern AI development tools to support coding, refactoring and debugging
Review AI-generated code for security, performance and quality
Develop automated unit, integration and end-to-end tests
Work closely with Product and business stakeholders
Take ownership of technical problems through to resolution

This is a great opportunity to join a modern engineering environment where you'll work with current technologies, AI-assisted development and sophisticated financial software, while continuing to develop your technical skills and take on greater responsibility.
