How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    About the Role

You will be providing 21 hours of support per week, with the hours worked flexibly during the daytime.

Mum has physical disabilities but is very hands-on, active and independent. Her son has autism, and the role will involve supporting the family with their day-to-day routine, activities, appointments and accessing the community.

The aim of the package is to provide practical support while encouraging and maintaining the family's independence.

    Duties may include:

Supporting mum and her son with day-to-day activities

Supporting with trips and activities within the community

    Attending appointments where required

Assisting with shopping and general day-to-day tasks

Providing appropriate support to a child with autism

    Helping maintain routines and consistency

Driving the family when required as part of the support package

Building a positive and professional relationship with the family

    Hours & Pay

    £17.00 per hour

    21 guaranteed hours every week

    Long-term, ongoing work

    Daytime hours

    Flexible working pattern

    Weekly pay

    Driver Essential

You must hold a full UK driving licence and be confident driving as part of your role.

You will not be expected to use your own vehicle for the support. Mum has a disability vehicle and arrangements will be made for the successful Support Worker to be added to the relevant insurance.

    What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who is:

Reliable and committed to providing consistent long-term support

    Friendly, patient and approachable

Confident supporting both adults and children

Comfortable supporting an individual with autism

Able to promote independence rather than taking over

    Flexible with daytime availability

A confident driver with a full UK driving licence

Able to maintain appropriate professional boundaries

Previous experience within care, support work, autism, learning disabilities or family support would be advantageous.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a consistent 21 hours of guaranteed work each week at £17.00 per hour, while retaining flexibility around their daytime working pattern.

Apply today with your CV and a member of our team will be in touch to discuss the package in more detail.
