How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    We are very pleased to be working alongside our highly reputable, professional and specialist client as they seek to recruit an Inventory Planning Specialist on a full time and permanent basis

    Inventory Planning Specialist

    Burgess Hill with plenty of parking available for all staff on site. Office based around 15 minute walk from nearest station.

    Full time permanent role - Monday - Friday (Apply online only) - 35 hours per week with flexibility on working hours. Hybrid working is available 2 days office / 3 days working from home per week.

    £37000-£40000 per annum plus very good all round company benefits. 25 days holiday (increasing with length of service), private medical insurance, company bonus scheme, company funded social events and much more

    This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys combining hands-on inventory management with forecasting, data analysis and continuous improvement. You'll have the chance to work across multiple functions and play an important role in developing effective inventory and planning processes.

    The role - Inventory Planning Specialist

    We are looking for an Inventory Planning Specialist to join a growing distribution operation. This is a varied role combining demand planning, inventory management, forecasting, data analysis and stakeholder management, with responsibility for helping maintain optimum stock levels across European distribution operations.

    You'll play an important part in the monthly EU Sales & Operations Planning process, working closely with commercial, operational and global teams to ensure inventory and forecasts remain aligned with business and customer requirements

    Duties and responsibilities include:

    * Managing demand planning and forecasting

    * Monitoring inventory levels and helping maintain optimum stock availability

    * Supporting customer replenishment activity alongside the commercial team

    * Acting as a key contact for customer inventory, planning and forecasting requirements

    * Monitoring inventory utilisation and performance against agreed KPIs

    * Analysing supply chain data and presenting performance trends and metrics

    * Maintaining the EU order book and shipping dates alongside the wider operations team

    * Building effective relationships across commercial, operations and global teams

    * Identifying opportunities to improve inventory management processes

    * Supporting sourcing activities during peak periods

    * Supporting the planning and management of larger, longer-term projects

    * Ensuring relevant safety, regulatory and operational procedures are followed

    Experience, skills and competencies required:

    You'll ideally have previous experience within supply chain, inventory planning, demand planning or forecasting, together with strong analytical skills and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders across different areas of a business.

    You'll also bring:

    * Previous supply chain and/or inventory planning experience

    * Strong demand planning and forecasting skills

    * Experience analysing supply chain data to support performance, cost and risk decisions

    * Strong Excel/MS Office and general systems skills

    * Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability

    * Excellent organisational, prioritisation and time-management skills

    * Confident written and verbal communication skills

    * Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders

    * The ability to adapt to changing priorities

    A degree or equivalent qualification/experience is required. Experience with ERP systems, Salesforce or X3 ERP would be advantageous, while a technical, laboratory or medical background would also be beneficial but this is not essential.
