How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    QA Manager

    Cumbernauld, with regular site travel

    £32,000 - £40,000 depending on experience

    Permanent, full-time

    Office and site-based

Winsearch is proud to partner with an established specialist roofing, cladding and façade contractor looking to appoint a QA Manager.

This is a genuine development opportunity. The client is open to either an experienced roofing, cladding or façade installer looking to move into quality management, or a recent construction graduate interested in building a specialist career in quality assurance.

You don't necessarily need to have been a QA Manager before. Practical understanding, attention to detail and the confidence to maintain quality standards across live projects will be more important than your current job title.

    The Role

Based from the Cumbernauld office, you'll split your time between office-based quality coordination and inspections across roofing, cladding, rainscreen and remediation projects.

You'll check that works are being completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and manufacturers' requirements. You'll also maintain the photographic and written evidence needed to demonstrate that installations have been completed correctly.

This is not a purely administrative position. You'll need to be comfortable on active construction sites, speaking with experienced installers and identifying issues before work is covered up or reaches final inspection.

    What You'll Be Doing

Carrying out quality inspections across roofing, cladding and façade projects
Checking installations against drawings, specifications and approved details
Inspecting work at key stages before areas are closed up
Reviewing fixings, brackets, rails, insulation, membranes and cladding systems
Checking flashings, penetrations, interfaces and weathering details
Producing clear photographic and written inspection records
Completing quality checklists and supporting Inspection and Test Plans
    Identifying defects and non-conforming work
    Raising and tracking corrective actions
Reinspecting remedial work before closing quality issues
Checking materials delivered to site against project requirements
    Supporting product identification and traceability
Working with fitters, supervisors and project teams to improve standards
Supporting snagging, completion inspections and project handover
    Maintaining organised project quality files
Helping improve QA procedures, checklists and reporting processes
Supporting quality briefings and lessons-learned reviews
    What They're Looking For

My client will consider candidates through one of three routes:

    Experienced Installer or Supervisor

You may currently work as a:

    Roofing or cladding installer
    Rainscreen fitter
    Façade installer
    Lead Fitter
    Working Foreperson
    Cladding Supervisor
    Site Supervisor
You'll need strong practical knowledge, the ability to interpret drawings and a reputation for caring about workmanship and detail. Training can be provided around formal inspections, reporting and quality documentation.

    Recent Construction Graduate

    Relevant degree backgrounds could include:

    Construction Management
    Building Surveying
    Architectural Technology
    Civil or Structural Engineering
    Construction Engineering
    Quality Management
You'll need strong written skills, confidence working on active construction sites and a genuine interest in roofing, cladding and façade systems.

    Existing Quality Professional

You may already work as a:

    Quality Inspector
    QA Coordinator
    Assistant Quality Manager
    Site Quality Engineer
    Clerk of Works
    Construction Quality Advisor
Experience within façades, roofing, cladding or specialist subcontracting would be particularly useful.

    Requirements

    Essential:

    Strong attention to detail
    Organised and methodical approach
Confidence communicating with installers and project teams
Ability to maintain clear written and photographic records
Comfortable splitting time between the office and live sites
    Practical problem-solving ability
    Basic Microsoft Office skills
    Willingness to travel to projects
Full UK driving licence, or the ability to obtain one within an agreed period
Genuine interest in construction quality and external-envelope systems
    Desirable:

Roofing, cladding, rainscreen or façade installation experience
    Relevant construction or engineering degree
    CSCS card
    SSSTS or SMSTS
    IPAF or PASMA
    Working at Height training
Experience with ITPs, quality checklists or non-conformance reports
    Knowledge of ISO 9001
    Fire-remediation or cavity-barrier experience
    Manufacturer-specific system training
    AutoCAD or technical drawing experience
    About You

You'll be observant, practical and comfortable taking responsibility for the standard of work being delivered.

You should be confident enough to challenge incorrect or poor-quality installation, but able to do so constructively and maintain a good relationship with site teams.

The right person will understand that quality assurance is not simply about finding faults at the end of a project. The aim is to identify potential issues early, help teams get the installation right first time and maintain the evidence needed for inspection, handover and compliance.

    What's In It For You

    £32,000 - £40,000 salary depending on experience
Genuine opportunity to move into quality management
Permanent role with a specialist roofing and cladding contractor
Mix of office and site-based work
    Training and professional development
Exposure to roofing, rainscreen, recladding and fire-remediation projects
Support from experienced construction and project professionals
Opportunity to influence installation standards across the business
Long-term career development within construction quality assurance
If you're an experienced fitter looking to move away from full-time installation, a construction graduate seeking a specialist career, or an existing Quality Inspector ready for greater responsibility, contact Winsearch for a confidential discussion.
