How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Bid Writer

    Location: Leatherhead, Surrey
    Salary: £41,223 per annum
    Contract: Permanent
    Working Pattern: Hybrid

    About the Role

    We are looking for an experienced and talented Bid Writer to join our team in Leatherhead on a permanent, hybrid basis.

    This is an exciting opportunity for a strong communicator with a passion for producing high-quality, persuasive bid submissions. You will play a key role in supporting business growth by developing compelling tender responses that demonstrate our expertise, understanding of client requirements and ability to deliver excellent services.

    You will work closely with operational teams, subject matter experts and senior stakeholders to produce high-quality submissions across the social housing sector.

    Key Responsibilities

    Lead and coordinate the development of high-quality bid and tender submissions.

    Write clear, compelling and customer-focused responses to ITTs, PQQs, RFQs and other procurement documentation.

    Review tender requirements and ensure all submissions are fully compliant with evaluation criteria.

    Work with subject matter experts to gather information and develop strong, evidence-based responses.

    Research clients, contracts, markets and competitors to strengthen submissions.

    Develop effective win themes and ensure responses clearly demonstrate our value proposition.

    Coordinate bid content, deadlines, reviews and approvals across multiple stakeholders.

    Proofread and edit submissions to ensure accuracy, consistency and a high standard of presentation.

    You will ideally have:

    Previous experience as a Bid Writer, Tender Writer or Bid Coordinator.

    Experience within social housing, housing management, property services, facilities management or the public sector is highly desirable.

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    Experience responding to public sector or regulated procurement opportunities.

    Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately to tight deadlines.

    Excellent organisational and project management skills.

    The ability to extract information from subject matter experts and turn it into compelling bid content.

    A good understanding of procurement and tendering processes.

    A commercial mindset and understanding of what makes a successful bid.

    The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a wider team
