How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Production Shift Manager - 2 Positions

    Location: Garswood (WA)
    Salary: Up to £55,000 depending on experience
    Shift Pattern: Continental shift - 2 days, 2 nights, 4 off, 12-hour shifts (7am-7pm / 7pm-7am)

    The Opportunity

    We are currently recruiting for 2 Production Shift Managers to join a growing manufacturing operation as part of an exciting period of expansion.

    This is a key leadership position, responsible for overseeing a team of approximately 10 production operatives per shift, ensuring production targets are achieved safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

    We are looking for an experienced Production, Manufacturing or Operations professional who can hit the ground running, drive performance and bring a strong continuous improvement mindset to the role.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Shift Manager looking to take the next step in their career, with genuine scope to progress into Senior Operations and wider leadership roles.

    Key Responsibilities

    Lead and manage a team of approximately 10 production operatives on each shift.
    Coordinate production activities to meet daily, weekly and monthly targets.
    Ensure production runs smoothly and efficiently, minimising downtime and maximising output.
    Monitor and report production progress at predetermined points throughout the shift.
    Monitor machine settings and operating parameters to optimise production quality and efficiency.
    Troubleshoot production and equipment issues, working with relevant departments to minimise disruption.
    Produce and maintain KPI reports, using data to identify trends and improve performance.
    Develop and implement method statements and ensure production processes are followed correctly.
    Drive continuous improvement across production, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, safety and output.
    Maintain high standards of health & safety, housekeeping and operational discipline.
    Support training and development within the production team.
    Work closely with other departments to ensure production requirements are achieved.
    Provide effective leadership, communication and performance management across the shift.

    About You

    The successful candidate will ideally have:

    Previous experience in a Production, Manufacturing, Shift Management or Operations role.
    Experience managing and motivating production teams.
    A strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production targets.
    Experience working with KPIs, performance reporting and continuous improvement.
    The ability to troubleshoot production issues and make effective decisions under pressure.
    Strong communication and leadership skills.
    A hands-on approach with the ability to hit the ground running.
    Experience within plastics, FMCG or a similar manufacturing environment would be highly advantageous.
    NEBOSH or another recognised Health & Safety qualification would be advantageous, but is not essential.
