How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    R13 are currently recruiting for a Business Development Executive to join a growing sales team, playing an important role in converting warm, inbound interest into genuine sales opportunities. With this position, there’s no cold calling involved. You’ll be working with warm leads from B2B clients who have actively expressed an interest, whether through a website enquiry, marketing activity or previous engagement with the business.

    This role has been created as a development route into a more senior consultative sales position, giving you the opportunity to build your product knowledge, develop your sales skills and learn the business before progressing into a full specialist Business Development role. It’s designed to be an opportunity for someone who has the right sales ability but may not yet have the depth of the company’s specialist product knowledge needed to step straight into a senior-level position.

    Salary is offered at £26,750 with realistic OTE of £45,000 at this starting-level position – OTE increasing significantly as you progress into the more senior role. Monday-Friday 9-5 hours, based in central Norwich offices.

    The Company

    Our client is a well-established and growing specialist business with a strong reputation in its market. The sales team is continuing to develop, with a real focus on bringing ambitious sales people into the business and giving them the training and support to build a successful career.

    You’ll be joining a collaborative sales environment where the team work closely together, share knowledge and support one another to convert inbound opportunities into new business.

    Benefits

    * Clear progression route into a specialist sales role with increased OTE.

    * Office-based during probation, with up to 2 days working from home thereafter.

    * 25 days' annual leave, plus bank holidays.

    * Additional day off for your birthday.

    * Bupa healthcare plan.

    * Statutory pension.

    * Free parking (limited spaces)

    * Central city based location

    * Supportive, collaborative sales environment.

    * Structured training and ongoing product development.

    The Day-to-Day

    * Manage a portfolio of warm, inbound enquiries, ensuring potential customers receive a great first impression.

    * Speak with prospective clients to understand their requirements, motivations, timescales and what they are looking to achieve.

    * Ask the right questions to qualify opportunities and establish whether the business can provide the right solution.

    * Build rapport quickly and have confident, consultative conversations with prospective customers.

    * Schedule qualified appointments with the senior members of the team.

    * Work towards agreed targets around lead qualification, appointments booked and appointments attended.

    * Maintain accurate CRM records, including lead information, qualification notes and appointment outcomes.

    * Follow up with prospects where appropriate and keep opportunities moving through the early stages of the sales process.

    * Build your product and industry knowledge through structured training, hands-on experience and working alongside experienced salespeople.

    You Will Have / Be

    * Previous experience in sales, business development, appointment setting or lead qualification role.

    * Confident communication skills and the ability to build rapport quickly.

    * Comfortable asking questions, listening properly and getting to the heart of what a business actually needs.

    * Commercially minded, with a genuine interest in developing your sales ability.

    * Target-driven and motivated by achieving results.

    * Organised and confident managing a busy pipeline of enquiries.

    * Resilient and able to handle a high volume of conversations without losing quality.

    * Naturally curious and keen to build your knowledge of a new product and industry.

    * Ambitious, with an interest in progressing into a more senior consultative sales position.
