How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Got a gift for connecting with people?

    If you enjoy helping others, solving problems and staying calm under pressure, you could be our next Customer Service Adviser. This is a role where empathy, quick thinking and great communication really matter. You’ll join a small, friendly and supportive team, with the training and guidance you need to build your confidence, develop your skills and deliver a brilliant experience for our customers.

    About the role

    As a Customer Service Adviser, you’ll be the first point of contact for our customers, handling inbound calls and supporting them with a wide range of queries.

    You’ll listen carefully, provide clear and accurate information, and use your judgement to find the right solution. Whether you’re answering a straightforward question or helping someone with a more challenging issue, you’ll have the support of an experienced team around you.

    This is an office-based role within our small, friendly contact centre, where teamwork is at the heart of what we do. You’ll work closely with colleagues, sharing knowledge and supporting each other to deliver great customer service and achieve our shared business KPIs.

    Day to day, you will:

    * Take inbound customer calls and respond to enquiries clearly and professionally

    * Listen, troubleshoot and find the right solution for each customer

    * Keep customer information and records accurate and up to date

    * Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve shared team goals

    * Play an important role in representing our organisation and our values

    Hours of Work

    20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 10am to 2pm. Please note we are open to discussing flexibility around working hours to suit you. This will be discussed at interview stage.

    What makes you just right for us?

    You’re someone who genuinely enjoys connecting with people and understands what great customer service looks and feels like.

    You’ll be warm, patient and empathetic, including when conversations are challenging. You’ll be able to adapt your approach to different customers, think on your feet and handle a variety of queries with confidence.

    You don’t need to know everything from day one. We’ll provide you with comprehensive training, ongoing support from your team and opportunities to continue developing your skills.

    What matters most is that you bring:

    * A positive and customer-focused attitude

    * Strong communication and listening skills

    * Empathy, patience and resilience

    * A willingness to learn and develop

    * A collaborative approach to working as part of a team

    * Experience of working in a busy contact centre would be great, but we’re also interested in the skills and approach you can bring to the role

    Experience of working in a busy call centre is preferred.

    What’s in it for you?

    You’ll be a key team player in one of the largest water retailers in the UK, with lots of benefits and the chance to grow your career.

    * Starting salary of £13,993, increasing to £14,324 once training and probation are complete (usually 6 - 9 months) (FTE salary of £25,887, rising to £26,500)

    * Working hours Monday to Friday, between 9am and 5pm, and no evenings or weekends, so a great work life balance.

    * 10% annual bonus potential

    * Attractive pension plan

    * 31 days annual leave (pro-rata) and six bank holidays

    * Subsidised restaurant and free gym membership

    * Employee discounts

    * A supportive team around you – work alongside experienced, approachable colleagues who are there to share knowledge, collaborate and help you succeed.

    * Training and development – access to learning and development opportunities designed to build your skills, confidence and expertise.

    * Clear opportunities to grow – we’re committed to supporting your career development and helping you explore opportunities to progress as your experience grows.

    * Excellent on-site facilities – make the most of our extensive facilities - including a heavily subsidised on-site restaurant and fully-equipped gym - creating a convenient and enjoyable working environment.

    * Free on-site parking – making your commute that little bit easier and more affordable.

    We’re passionate about providing a great place to work, where our colleagues feel trusted, valued, supported and empowered, whatever their background or role. And we’re committed to providing an inclusive workplace that welcomes and promotes diversity and provides equal opportunities for everyone.
