How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Reporting in to the Head of IT, the successful Data Engineer will work on building and maintaining data pipelines to support analytics and decision-making processes. This role is all about ensuring data flows smoothly and efficiently, helping the business make informed choices.

    We are currently looking to grow our Data Engineering & Analytics team

    Description

    The successful Data Engineer will be responsible for but not limited to:

    Design, build and maintain efficient and reliable data pipelines.
    Develop and optimise data systems to ensure seamless integration and accessibility.
    Collaborate with analytics teams to understand data needs and provide solutions.
    Monitor and troubleshoot data-related issues to maintain system performance.
    Work closely with stakeholders to deliver actionable insights from data.Profile

    The successful Data Engineer should have:

    Strong technical skills in data engineering tools and technologies.
    Experience in designing and managing data pipelines.
    Knowledge of database systems and data modelling techniques.
    Ability to work collaboratively with analytics and IT teams.
    Understanding of data security and compliance requirements.
    Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to troubleshooting

    Salary between £40,000 and £45,000, dependent on the level of experience.
