How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

A specialist London cost consultancy is looking to appoint an Associate Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team. The successful Associate Quantity Surveyor will work across a varied portfolio of technically complex projects, including a strong MEP-led workload.

    The Associate Quantity Surveyor's Role

The Associate Quantity Surveyor will take responsibility for leading commissions, managing client relationships and supporting the development of junior team members.

While the consultancy delivers a significant amount of MEP-focused work, previous MEP or data centre experience is not essential. This role would suit an Associate Quantity Surveyor from a traditional building consultancy background who is keen to broaden their sector experience and gain exposure to more technically demanding projects.

The Associate Quantity Surveyor will work across both pre- and post-contract stages, providing cost planning, procurement and commercial management advice while maintaining strong relationships with clients and project teams.

    The Associate Quantity Surveyor

Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline

Strong UK PQS / construction consultancy experience

MRICS qualified or equivalent professional experience

Proven ability to lead projects and manage client relationships

Strong pre- and post-contract cost management knowledge

Good understanding of JCT and other UK contract forms

Experience within MEP or data centres would be beneficial but is not required

Genuine interest in broadening sector and technical experience

Confident managing and mentoring junior Quantity Surveyors

Commercially aware, professional and client focused

    In Return

    £80,000 - £90,000 per annum

    London-based position

Exposure to technically complex and MEP-led projects

    Opportunity to broaden sector experience

    Senior client-facing responsibility

Opportunity to mentor and develop junior staff

    Clear route towards Director-level progression

    Supportive specialist consultancy environment
