How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Senior Automation Engineer | Contract | Liverpool (Hybrid)

Bright Purple is working with a client in Liverpool to find two Senior Automation Engineers for a contract starting this month. It's a chance to join a collaborative delivery team where you'll have a real say in the quality and test automation approach.

📍 Location: Liverpool, onsite Tuesday to Thursday

    💷 Rate: £325 - £350 per day - Statement of Work

    📅 Start date: 12 October 2026

⏳ Duration: 3 months initially, with a view to extend by a further 6 months

    The role

You'll design, build and maintain test automation frameworks with Playwright and TypeScript. The work is hands-on, but you'll also be client-facing: you'll work closely with stakeholders, explain your approach and help raise the quality bar across the team.

    What you'll be doing

Designing, building and improving automated test suites using Playwright and TypeScript

Building robust, scalable and maintainable automation frameworks

Working with developers, BAs and product owners to make sure quality is built in from the start

Fitting automated testing into CI/CD pipelines

Sharing progress, risks and recommendations clearly with client stakeholders

Mentoring and supporting other team members on automation best practice

    What we're looking for

Proven experience as a Senior Automation Engineer or in a similar role

Strong hands-on skills in Playwright and TypeScript

Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to work directly with clients

A collaborative, proactive approach and a good fit with the client's people-focused culture

Insurance sector experience would be a real advantage, but isn't essential

    Why apply?

An immediate start on a well-paid contract

A good chance of extending to 9 months in total

A hybrid setup, with Mondays and Fridays at home

Real influence over the client's automation approach
    Salary description

    £325.00 - £350.00 per day
