How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Fire & Security Service Engineer

    Location: Nottingham

    Salary: £35,000–£40,000 DOE

    Employment: Full-Time

    We are recruiting for an experienced Multi-Disciplined Fire & Security Service Engineer to join a growing engineering team following recent contract wins.

    The role will involve a mixture of PPM servicing, remedial works and reactive fault-finding on fire and security systems, predominantly across large commercial sites.

    The Role

    • Carry out PPM servicing and maintenance on fire and security systems.

    • Complete remedial works identified during PPM visits.

    • Attend reactive callouts and diagnose system faults.

    • Work confidently on large commercial sites and systems.

    • Carry out electrical fault-finding and diagnostics.

    • Work on both traditional electrical systems and modern IP-based equipment.

    • Use basic networking knowledge for system configuration and fault-finding.

    Requirements

    • Previous Fire & Security Engineering experience.

    • Multi-disciplined experience across fire and security systems.

    • Strong electrical fundamentals and fault-finding skills.

    • Basic networking knowledge.

    • Comfortable working independently on commercial sites.

    • Good communication and customer service skills.

    • Reliable, hardworking and committed.

    • Willing to participate in a 1 in 6 on-call rota.

    Package

    • £35,000–£40,000 DOE.

    • Door-to-door travel paid.

    • Job-specific bonuses.

    • End-of-year profit share.

    • £200 on-call standby.

    • 25 days holiday + bank holidays, rising to 28 days with service.

    • Company van, tools and laptop provided.
