How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

A fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Junior C# Developer to accelerate their career within a highly technical trading environment.

We are looking for a Junior C# .NET Developer to join a growing technology team responsible for building and supporting high-performance, real-time software used within trading.

This is an ideal opportunity for a graduate or early-career developer who has already gained some commercial C# experience and now wants to take a significant step forward technically.

You'll work alongside experienced software engineers, gaining hands-on exposure to trading systems, real-time applications, high-performance software and complex technical challenges that you wouldn't typically encounter in a standard junior development role.

You'll be encouraged to learn, ask questions and gradually take on more responsibility as your technical skills develop.

    What You'll Be Doing

Develop and enhance applications using C# and modern .NET

Work on real-time, performance-critical trading technology

Learn directly from experienced senior software engineers

Build new features and improve existing systems

Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code

Work with SQL and relational databases

Investigate technical issues and learn how to troubleshoot production systems

Participate in code reviews, testing and debugging

Gain exposure to performance optimisation, scalability and system reliability

Work across the full software development lifecycle

Develop your understanding of professional software engineering best practices

    What We're Looking For

A strong academic background with at least a 2:1 degree in a STEM subject

Some commercial experience developing software with C#

Good understanding of .NET / .NET Core

    Solid knowledge of object-oriented programming

Understanding of SQL and relational databases

    Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

A genuine enthusiasm for software engineering and learning new technologies

Someone who wants to understand how and why systems work, rather than simply writing code

Good communication skills and the ability to learn from experienced developers

    Great If You Have

You don't need to tick every box, but exposure to any of the following would be beneficial:

    ASP.NET Core / Web APIs

    SQL Server

    Multithreading or asynchronous programming

    Git

    Automated testing and CI/CD

    Distributed systems

    Performance optimisation or low-latency applications

    AWS or Azure

An interest in financial markets, trading or quantitative technology

Why This Is a Great Junior Opportunity

This isn't a role where you'll spend your first few years working on basic development tasks.

You'll be joining an environment where software performance, speed, reliability and quality really matter, giving you the opportunity to develop skills that can take years to gain elsewhere.

You'll learn from experienced engineers, gain exposure to sophisticated trading technology and build a strong foundation across C#, .NET, databases, real-time systems and high-performance software engineering.

For a Junior Developer who is technically curious, ambitious and keen to learn, this is an opportunity to develop quickly and build a genuinely strong engineering career within trading technology.
