Hours: Term time, 8:30am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday.
Make classroom participation more accessible for autistic children. You will help pupils understand tasks, communicate their needs and navigate transitions, working with the class teacher to provide support that respects each child’s strengths and preferences. Transparency Education is recruiting for this position in Lewisham.
Key responsibilities
Provide one-to-one and small-group support under teacher guidance
Use visual prompts, clear language and agreed communication strategies
Support transitions, sensory regulation and participation in activities
Share observations with teachers and the SENCO to inform next steps
Role requirements
Experience supporting autistic children in an educational setting
A calm, patient approach and understanding of individual sensory needs
Confidence following support plans and working closely with colleagues
A commitment to safeguarding and an enhanced DBS check appropriate to the role, or willingness to complete one.
