How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

This is a senior role combining strategic supply chain leadership, procurement management and business transformation. You will be responsible for strengthening the existing supply chain operation while developing the strategy, processes, systems and supplier network required to support continued business growth.

Working closely with Operations, Engineering, Programmes, Quality and Finance, you will play a key role in ensuring the organisation has a resilient, commercially effective and scalable supply chain capable of supporting complex engineering programmes.

    Key Responsibilities

+Develop and own a 3–5 year supply chain strategy aligned with business growth and programme requirements.
+Assess the current supply chain operating model, processes, systems and capabilities and define the future structure required to support growth.
+Lead and develop the existing procurement and buying team, providing clear objectives, direction and performance management.
+Develop strategic sourcing strategies across key categories and areas of expenditure.
+Establish a structured supplier segmentation and supplier-management framework, assessing suppliers against cost, quality, delivery, risk and capability.
+Identify and mitigate supply chain risks including single-source dependencies, capacity constraints, long lead times and supplier financial or operational concerns.
+Develop the supplier network through alternative sourcing, dual sourcing, supplier development and strategic partnerships.
+Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes, governance, automation and ERP utilisation.

    Key Objectives

During the first 12 months, you will be expected to:

+Establish a clear baseline of current supply chain performance and capability.
+Identify and prioritise key supplier and operational risks.
+Introduce appropriate Supply Chain KPIs and performance reporting.
+Implement structured supplier segmentation and performance management.
+Develop the long-term UK supply chain strategy.

    About You

We are looking for an experienced supply chain or procurement professional with a strong background within a complex engineering, manufacturing, technology, aerospace, defence or similarly regulated environment.

    You will ideally have:

+Significant experience across Supply Chain, Procurement or Strategic Sourcing.
+Proven experience managing and developing procurement or supply chain teams.
+Strong strategic sourcing and commercial negotiation experience.
+A track record of supplier relationship and supplier performance management.
+Experience managing supply chain risk, resilience and inventory.
+Experience developing and implementing supply chain strategies or transformation programmes.
+Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and supply chain data.

    The Company

You will join an innovative, technology-led organisation operating within a highly technical engineering environment, working on complex programmes that have a global impact.

The business offers the opportunity to work alongside highly skilled engineering, operations and programme teams within an organisation focused on innovation, collaboration and long-term growth.

If you are looking for a senior supply chain opportunity where you can shape strategy, develop a team and make a tangible impact on the future operating model, this could be an excellent next step
