We're looking for an experienced Environmental Compliance Manager to play a key role in driving environmental best practice across a well-established and growing organisation. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape compliance strategy, influence business decisions, and work closely with suppliers, customers, and senior leadership teams.
This role offers the chance to make a real impact by ensuring products, processes, and supply chains meet environmental and regulatory requirements while supporting the business's sustainability objectives.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead environmental compliance activities across the business.
* Manage supplier due diligence and responsible sourcing programmes.
* Oversee FSC and PEFC Chain of Custody certification processes and audits.
* Ensure compliance with relevant environmental and product regulations.
* Act as the subject matter expert for environmental legislation and certification requirements.
* Build strong relationships with suppliers, certification bodies, industry organisations, and regulatory authorities.
* Support internal and external audits and maintain accurate compliance records.
* Develop policies, procedures, and training materials to drive compliance awareness throughout the business.
* Produce reports and updates for senior management and key stakeholders.
* Monitor emerging legislation and industry developments to ensure ongoing compliance.
What We're Looking For
* Previous experience within Environmental Compliance, Sustainability, ESG, Responsible Sourcing, or a similar role.
* Strong understanding of environmental regulations and compliance frameworks.
* Experience managing audits, certifications, and supplier compliance programmes.
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
* Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
* Ability to influence and drive change across a business.
* Experience within timber, manufacturing, construction products, or supply chain environments would be advantageous.
* French language skills would be beneficial but are not essential.
