You will be involved across the full project lifecycle from initial design and 3D modelling through to manufacture, installation, and handover - working closely with customers, project managers, and internal fabrication and machining teams. Salary & Benefits
* £35,000 – £50,000 depending on experience
* Working hours: 08:00–17:00 Monday to Thursday, 08:00–14:00 on Friday (with 30 minutes for lunch)

Duties of the Design Engineer
* Design and develop purpose-built machinery and equipment to meet customer specifications
* Create detailed 3D models, manufacturing drawings, and assembly drawings
* Design conveyor systems, robotic integrations, machine frames, and associated mechanical equipment
* Produce accurate bills of materials (BOMs) and technical documentation
* Liaise with fabrication and machining departments to ensure designs are practical, efficient, and manufacturable
* Support projects throughout the full lifecycle from concept through to manufacture, installation, and commissioning
* Participate in design reviews and implement improvements based on feedback
* Communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
* Ensure designs comply with relevant engineering standards and safety requirements
* Assist with problem-solving and continuous improvement activities
Experience Required of the Design Engineer
* Proven experience in the design of bespoke machinery and equipment
* Experience designing conveyor systems, robotic applications and integrations, and structural machine frames and fabricated assemblies
* Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including fabrication, machining, and assembly
* Proficient in SolidWorks (highly desirable)
* Experience with AutoCAD (desirable)
* Knowledge of CE/UKCA machinery requirements and machinery risk assessments (desirable)
* HNC, HND, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (desirable)
