How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

SRT Marine Systems plc (SRT) is a market leader in the domain of international marine surveillance technology and systems. We are a respected, established, and an ambitious multi-national company headquartered in the UK with a global customer base.

The company has a worldwide impact in the marine sector by leading the next generation of maritime domain awareness technologies "MDA", products, and systems that significantly enhance security, safety, environmental protection, and sustainability. Our customers are global and range from the largest national coast guards to individual vessel owners.

SRT is an exciting company where high-quality results are rewarded. We are ambitious and constantly seek to innovate in order to deliver better products and services to our customers. We strive to make SRT a rewarding and challenging place to work, where talented, hard-working individuals have the opportunity to make a real impact across the safety and security in the maritime and marine industry.

Role overview of our Shipping and Logistics Manager - Export

The Shipping and Logistics Manager (Export) will own the end-to-end distribution of SRT Systems products from point of purchase to delivery into the end user's hands; across all Systems programmes, current and future. The role drives a shift in planning and behaviour: forecasting delivery needs early enough to consolidate shipments, move eligible volume by sea rather than air, and clear customs in consolidated batches, while ensuring full export compliance throughout. Initial programme focus is the Middle East, Far East and Africa.

The role of Shipping and Logistics Manager (Export) is based from our Bristol & Midsomer Norton offices, with flexibility for Hybrid working. This role will on occasion require occasional overseas travel as required by the business.

Responsibilities - Shipping and Logistics Manager (Export) - (not exhaustive):

    Shipping and logistics
Own the shipping requirement for all Systems programmes, current and future
Plan and forecast delivery needs with programme delivery teams and the PMO, early enough to move eligible volume by sea freight rather than air
Consolidate shipments and phase customs clearances to reduce per-shipment freight and clearance costs
Manage day-to-day freight forwarder and customs agent relationships and performance for the Systems business, and lead rate negotiation input, within the commercial framework owned by the Head of Systems Procurement
    Upstream supply
Own supplier relationships where SRT buys on Ex Works (EXW) terms and arranges collection
Facilitate direct-from-supplier shipments, working in close interoperability with the Senior Supply Chain Coordinator
    Export control and compliance
Own the export licensing process in consultation with the Procurement Manager
Manage licence applications and end-user undertakings, and ensure licensing and export documentation is provided throughout the shipping process
    End-to-end distribution
Be accountable for distribution from point of purchase to the product being in the end user's hands, including export, import clearance and in-country delivery
Engage with the in-country Logistics and Supply Chain Manager on final delivery
Liaise closely with the SRT warehouse team on consignment readiness

Skills & Experience - Shipping and Logistics Manager (Export) - (not exhaustive):

    Essential

Strong hands-on logistics, freight forwarding or project-cargo experience
    Analytical, process-driven and data-driven, with a continuous quality-improvement mindset
    Practical customs clearance knowledge
    Desirable

UK export licensing experience (including SPIRE) - training provided for our new colleague
    CILT or ICS membership
IATA dangerous goods certification (e.g. lithium batteries)
    Business Central experience

    Benefits

    Highly Competitive Salary
    Private Healthcare
Matched pension up to 5% company contribution

SRT Marine Systems plc are an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to creating an inclusive working environment for all employees and actively encourage applications from all sectors of the community
