How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are looking for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join an established Manufacturing organisation in Accrington.

    This is a hands on Engineering position with a strong electrical focus, with the role expected to be approximately 70% electrical and 30% mechanical. You will support the maintenance and reliability of machinery, equipment and site facilities, with a combination of planned maintenance, reactive breakdown work and engineering improvements.

    The role would suit an electrically qualified engineer with proven maintenance experience who is confident fault finding, diagnosing issues and carrying out repairs within a manufacturing environment. You will also have the opportunity to support installation, maintenance and improvement projects as required.

    Salary: 39,273 plus overtime opportunities.
    Hours: Monday–Thursday 07:00–16:00, Friday 07:00–12:45 (37.5 hours per week).

    As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for:

    * Providing electrical maintenance support across production machinery, equipment, plant and site facilities.

    * Carrying out planned maintenance to help maintain equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.

    * Responding to breakdowns, identifying faults and carrying out effective repairs.

    * Diagnosing electrical and mechanical issues and determining the appropriate corrective action.

    * Supporting the installation and maintenance of electrical and mechanical equipment across the site.

    * Assisting with machinery, equipment and site improvement projects where required.

    * Monitoring equipment following repair work to ensure faults have been effectively resolved.

    * Identifying opportunities to improve equipment reliability, performance and productivity.

    * Working closely with the wider engineering and production teams to respond to maintenance requirements.

    * Completing maintenance documentation and recording faults, repairs and parts used.

    * Carrying out work in accordance with site Health and Safety requirements and engineering procedures.

    Electrical Maintenance Engineer Requirements:

    * Time-served Electrical Engineer or proven experience within an electrical maintenance environment.

    * HNC / HND / NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or a similar discipline.

    * Proven experience within electrical maintenance, ideally within a manufacturing environment.

    * Strong electrical fault-finding and troubleshooting experience.

    * Experience carrying out planned and reactive maintenance.

    * Ability to diagnose and repair electrical faults on machinery and equipment.

    * Previous experience working across both electrical and mechanical maintenance.

    * Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

    * Proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team.

    * Good communication skills and a practical, hands on approach.
