How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Help people rebuild their confidence, independence, and future.

    We're looking for two compassionate and motivated Mental Health Support Workers to join our High Support Mental Health Services in Hackney, where you'll support customers with a history of serious mental illness to achieve their goals, build resilience and move towards greater independence.

    This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference every day, working alongside people to support their recovery journey through person-centred, trauma-informed and strengths-based approaches.

    What you’ll do

    As a Mental Health Support Worker, you'll work closely with customers to develop personalised support plans that promote recovery, wellbeing and independence. You'll also:

    * Build positive, trusting relationships with customers and support them to achieve their goals.

    * Complete support plans, risk assessments and reviews in a recovery-focused and trauma-informed way.

    * Help customers maximise their income, access benefits and manage their finances.

    * Support customers to develop independent living skills and sustain their housing.

    * Work collaboratively with health professionals, social care teams and other partner agencies.

    * Encourage medication self-management and support healthier lifestyles.

    * Maintain accurate records, contribute to achieving service outcomes and identify/respond appropriately to safeguarding, welfare and risk concerns.

    What you’ll need

    We're looking for someone who is passionate about supporting people with mental health needs and helping them thrive. You'll be kind, empathetic and genuinely motivated to improve people's lives. You’re a customer-focused individual, an effective communicator who can work confidently with customers, colleagues and external agencies. You’ll also have:

    * Experience supporting people with mental health needs, vulnerable adults, or those facing multiple and complex challenges.

    * Knowledge of recovery-focused and trauma-informed practice.

    * Strong communication, report-writing and IT skills.

    * A caring, empathetic and non-judgemental approach.

    * The resilience to work in a busy and emotionally demanding environment.

    * Confidence working independently, including lone working when required.

    * An understanding of safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion.

    If you're passionate about empowering people, promoting recovery, and making a lasting impact, we'd love to hear from you.

    Why join us

    At Peabody, our values guide everything we do - Be Kind, Do the Right Thing, Love New Ideas, Celebrate Diversity, Keep Our Promises, and Pull Together.

    * 25 days’ annual holiday (plus bank holidays)

    * Flexible benefits scheme including healthcare, dental, tech, vouchers, and more

    * Up to 10% pension contributions

    Please read before applying

    We have TWO full time, permanent roles available, across two Hackney mental health services. Working 7.5-hour shifts - Rotating shift pattern between 8:00am and 10:00pm and includes weekend working

    As an employer, Peabody does not provide sponsorship as a licenced UK employer and this role will require an Enhanced DBS check.

    Interviews will be taking place in person on the 29th or 30th October at our Hackney location
